Main features
Compact and Lightweight Design
The IC-M85 is the most compact and lightweight commercial-grade marine and land mobile hybrid radio available. With dimensions of 56 × 92 × 36.2 mm (2.2 × 3.6 × 1.4 in) and a weight of only 281g when equipped with the BP-294 battery, FA-SC58V antenna, and MBB-3 belt clip, it is easy to carry and use without adding unnecessary bulk.
Dual-Band Operation for Versatile Use
One of the standout features of the IC-M85 is its dual-band operation, covering both VHF marine channels (156.025–157.425 MHz and 156.050–163.275 MHz) and land mobile channels (136.000–174.000 MHz). This dual-band capability makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from maritime operations to land-based communication needs. Up to 100 programmable channels are available for land mobile use, each programmable with CTCSS and DTCSS tone.
High-Power Audio and Clear Communication
Despite its compact size, the IC-M85 delivers a powerful 0.7W of audio output, ensuring clear communication even in noisy environments. This high-power audio is crucial for maintaining effective communication on busy ports, docks, and open waters.
Waterproof and Rugged Construction
The IC-M85 is built to withstand harsh conditions. It is IP67 rated for water and dust protection, ensuring it can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes without damage. Additionally, it meets MIL-STD-810 specifications for durability.
