Motorola SL2M Walkie Talkie
Main features
Stealth Ergonomic Design
Traditional commercial two-way radios force employees to choose between security and style. The SL2M’s anodized aluminum body is narrower than most smartphones, so valet parkers, concierges, and nurses can wear it under a suit jacket or lanyard without leaving a mark. An embedded PTT button, four programmable virtual buttons, and a dual-line OLED display only light up when needed, maintaining the sleek look guests expect.
Analog/Digital Dual-Mode
The Motorola SL2M features software-selectable analog and DMR Tier II modes. It can operate on 12.5 kHz analog signals on traditional channels today and switch to 6.25e equivalent spectrum in digital mode tomorrow—no hardware changes, no new antennas, and no additional licensing fees.
Wireless Workflow
Frontline employees hate cables. Built-in Bluetooth 4.0 allows Motorola DMR radios to pair with concealed headsets, PTT buttons, and even barcode scanners. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n supports wireless code updates, allowing new channel plans to be pushed wirelessly to up to 500 devices; all programming can be completed upon staff arrival, without the need for any programming cables.
Exceptional Voice Quality
The Motorola SL2M uses an AMBE+2 vocoder with 40 dB adjacent channel rejection and 0.19 µV digital sensitivity. Calls from concierges in the loading/unloading area are as clear as calls from security guards on the mezzanine level. Intelligent audio automatically boosts the volume when the ambient sound pressure level exceeds 85 dB and immediately lowers it when the environment quiets down.
All-Day Battery Life
The 2300 mAh lithium-ion battery provides up to 13.5 hours of battery life in digital mode (5-5-90 duty cycle). Shift workers can simply change the battery—no tools, no cup contact, no damage to plastic clips. A 30-minute fast charge can restore 50% of the battery
